Congratulations on completing the chemo. You look beautiful. You possess many unique talents and you're one of the most educated people I know. You're taking good care of yourself and I know you'll continue. We need your leadership to change the world.
Congratulations on checking this latest medical “adventure” off your list. Here’s hoping that only happy or utterly routine medical news lies ahead. And I agree with JennSH: your wig looks good! Onward and upward to the next NON-medical adventure! 💕
You are an inspiration. I had my last chemo this past Friday and now get to look forward to radiation. I’m determined to outlive the thing in the WH. Take care of you. Spring will soon be here!
No radiation for me this time. I hope you have an easy time with it. When I had radiation with my last cancer it was 30 hits but only a little ‘sunburn’. 😏
Yes, our country needs us. No more distractions! ❤️💙
Finishing chemo is huge. The uncertainty about whats next sounds overwhelming, but the fact that the treatment is complete means forward momentum, even if the path isnt totally clear yet. I went through someting similar with a family member where the waiting period between treatment and results felt harder than the treatment itself. Hoping the MRI brings good news and that normal finds its way back gradually.
Me too. Thanks. My oncologist seems to think the tumor has shrunk enough not to cause much more trouble, but surgery is always a possibility, if only to make sure nothing is lurking in the surrounding tissue. Still, it’ll be minor, so I’m not too worried. I just want it all to be over with!
Wig looks great! Put your northern gear on and get out and walk a bit in the weather. It was -15C here this morning when I went to the pool at 8:45. I put on my “Winnipeg” coat (which I might need 3-4 times during the winter here in Halifax) and I was cosy! I learned in Winnipeg to dress for the conditions and being out in -40C was possible.
LOL, it's not the cold I'm afraid of as much as the ice under the snow. We haven't had a thaw yet! I'm unsteady, anyway, and the last thing I want to do is fall... 🙄
I understand! I'm also afraid of the ice - I had a slip a month or so ago, landed on my knees and right hand (the one where I'd had a fracture a couple of years ago). Turns out it wasn't my knees or wrist that was the problem - I managed to strain a tendon in my left foot. Lots of icing and a couple of appointments with a physio has helped everything return to normal, but....
I'm glad to learn that you're doing better. May you have the best possible outcome! And, selfishly, I hope you have plenty of energy to keep writing and posting on Substack.
FYI...we're in the same elderly boat...same need-to-exercise boat. My Christmas gift this year was a mini-treadmill...I walk slooowly as I watch the news or The Pitt, with a chair (for balance) beside me...sometimes one of my trekking poles on the other side helps, too. A game-changer!
Just so you know, you look good in the photo wearing your wig. I understand you would rather have your own hair.
Thank you.

Thank you, Lisa. If I have one mission it’s to carry on! Lots of things getting in my way but so far so good… ❤️
Looking good! You rock that wig. Take care — we need your voice.

Congratulations, Ramona, and enjoy your wellness!!
Congrats on this milestone!

Oh, no! I’m so sorry. Those things happen so quickly and then it takes months to get over. Let’s both be careful! 💕

Thanks! I’m working on it.
You have been on my mind and in my prayers for healing. Ring the bell!
If you have access to Acorn and Britbox, there are some terrific comedies and mysteries
I watched something lately on Britbox but now I can’t remember what it was!
Oh, I remember now. It was Riot Women. Loved it! I hated to see it end.

And you make the wig look goo-ood!
I wish I had room for a treadmill. Not possible here, unfortunately.
I just had someone tell me I look like Erma Bombeck in my wig. I'll take that! 😆
The wig looks good on you - very natural. Best of luck with the next steps🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
Thanks!
