It seems to me that he hates ridicule and caricature more than anything else. We need to do more of that, more effectively. He can’t handle it.

It infuriates him. It's the thing that makes him most want to retaliate--just as any bully kid does. But he's the president. He's not a kid. It's intolerable that he gets away with it.

And laughter is good the the one laughing: it releases all sorts of positive hormones which help us withstand the craziness.

Thanks, Ramona❣️

I’m 3 for 3 at recent Saturday protests. Ready for the next one on May 1. But this is too SLOW-MO for me. Writing, calling, attending meetings - all good. But WTF is going to get something to happen, before I get hauled off to some camp! I don’t know what, if anything is going on with the folks I voted FOR, and the 💙 elected legislators. I need to know that they aren’t scratching their heads, sitting on their thumbs & playing nice, until 2026 rolls around. Who knows shape this country will be in by then. I’m 73, but I still have fire in my belly about this shit show🔥

Let’s ROLL ‼️

Rant over 😡, for now ✊🏼🧓🏻

Let's ignore what he says, document when legal ramifications are possible, and support the resistance, e.g., Costco, for maintaining DEI practices. This is where capitalism speaks when the people aren't heard. Look at what's happened to Tesla already. Our dollars support the resistance entities and it's something tangible that we can do, right now. It does make a difference when our protests don't. Of course this includes Democrats- well, some of them!

I think the protests must help some--those numbers are pretty amazing! But it'll take more than that. You're right that hitting them where their money is hurts the elite most. I just read an article predicting that Musk is about to 'leave politics' and of course it's because Tesla has taken a major hit over Musk's ridiculous antics as a Trump sycophant.

Did he really think all Americans are MAGA? He's been awfully quiet for the past couple of weeks. It's been nice. 😏

Read up on narcissistic personality disorder and the tools suggested by therapists to deal with someone like that. That’s what he is and I think some of your suggestions are half right though NPDs love it when you yell back. They love riling people up. It means they still care.

And frankly I don’t know how to apply some of the things I’ve learned about dealing with NPD to his current position because literally the only safe best thing you CAN do is show up indifferent af when you have to show up and really cut ties completely. So maybe some NPD trained psychologists can start formulating ideas en masse.

You’re right though, responding to him like he’s a normal human and expecting him to be a normal human is absurd.

The articles on Trump’s narcissism could fill a rally hall there have been so many over the years. I confess I haven’t read them all, but I’ve read enough. They all say pretty much the same thing his niece, Mary Trump, who has known him personally all of her life, has been telling us. Trump is a psychopathic narcissist. We get it. It’s not enough to just describe it: “Oh, that’s what he is! Good to know…”. Now we need to use that knowledge as a weapon against him.

And yes, they love it when we yell. So what? We’re yelling to our crowd, to our peeps, to those who feel the need to yell, too, and if we yell loud enough, if we say the things they’re saying, too, the helpers (not the perpetrators) will hear us and heed. They won’t be able to avoid us. They’ll know we mean business.

That’s why we do this.

Honestly? I don't see him as a half-wit. I see him as a cunning, conniving bastard who knows exactly what he's doing and has contrived a whole administration to help him do it. By all accounts, the man has read Mein Kampf. That should tell everyone something very important.

Watching from overseas, it's been refreshing to see protests, to see Harvard and some of the judiciary standing up.

Will there be violence? Ultimately, my guess is yes. In most autocracies and dictatorships, violence is what it takes for just and right government to resume. Terrible terrible thought but I wonder if that (not so implied anymore) threat is what Trump is using as his winning hand.

Ramona, this is an excellent summary of our country’s previously unimaginable reality. I have only one editorial suggestion: instead of “Tomorrow would be a good day to get it done,” I’d propose “TODAY would be a good day to get it done.”

My logic behind this recommendation is based on a plaque I remember seeing many years ago at The Old Shillelagh, a quaint Irish pub in downtown Detroit, that read “Free beer tomorrow.”

Obviously, tomorrow never comes, and beer will never be free unless it’s free today.

the mystery I will never ever ever understand is the tolerance much less appeal of this man. Must be a flaw, a huge missing piece in my perception of the known world. Like being blind in my "third eye" or something.

You’re not alone. No consolation, I know, but join the club as we drive ourselves mad trying to figure out the appeal of such a paltry, useless man.

I'm not sure there has ever been a bigger failure in the history of humankind. Everything he touches turns to shit and every delusional utterance flying from his forward-facing stench hole speaks of how phenomenally stupid he is and how much he was unloved for his entire life. Hey Mango, NOBODY likes a bully and NOBODY likes you. AT ALL! EVERYONE finds you to be a stupid piece of fecal matter they simply have to put up with, or "get through." You see Donny Dumbass, you are significant only in how much of an insignificant idiot you are and EVERYBODY, yes EVERYBODY around you will be happy to see you gone. You are worthless. Oh! And scum. Period.

He has no business releasing one sentence comments about how he feels about Zelenskyy. No one on this planet cares what he thinks about another human being, because it’s just awful violates every bit of morality and humanity, and he is not negotiating a piece for Ukraine. He wants Russia to win this for Russia to come across the border and for somehow it’s all about Trump’s ego and his image because remember he said the war would be over in 24 hours yeah yeah that guy.

May I nitpick? He doesn't have "predator instincts." The only animal comparison I can manage is a rat - invasive, despoiling, and especially nasty when he's in any way threatened. But that's insulting to the vilest of the rodents, isn't it?
