Heads at NBC Need to Roll.
They chose Ronna McDaniel and they knew exactly what they had.
By now everyone who follows American politics at all knows what a mess it’s been at NBC since last Friday, March 22, when the announcement came that to insure fairness in their political reporting/analyzing (because too much of it, apparently, has leaned toward the truth) they had hired former RNC chair and gushing Trump sycophant not to mention election denier and insurrection cheerleader Ronna McDaniel to commentate on and defend the Trump side—to the tune of some $300,000 a year—because, you know, somebody had to do it. In all fairness.
That’s the company line, anyway. And it’s a lie. In all fairness there’s not a single Trump supporter who should ever be allowed in front of the cameras to defend a single Trump position. Every Trump position is indefensible.
They’re supporting a monster of monstrous proportions, a man who loudly and proudly threatens certain disaster to both citizens and country if ever he should be allowed into the White House again, a man whose criminal and antisocial activities are widely known, a man who seems to be spending an inordinate amount of time in court these days trying to wiggle out of any jail time.
A man who, even after four years as ‘president’, still has no qualifications to be president, nor does he even want to be president. He wants to be dictator. And how do we know that? Because he keeps telling us.
NBC still hasn’t come to terms with what it means to be a Trump supporter. They’re so clueless they think there are some honest Trump supporters out there. Trump supporters who will tell the truth about Trump and his wish to take over our country and destroy it so as to make it completely unrecognizable from its former self. But the truth is, they can’t tell the truth. Why would they? How could they? They’re Trump supporters.
So every Trump supporter they bring on will automatically have to lie in order to maintain their role as—say it along with me—a Trump supporter. It’s impossible to talk up Trump without lying about his motives. Which of them is willing to admit he’s a ridiculous caricature of a human being with no discernable goodness in him and he’s itching to extract revenge on all of his enemies, the proportions of which are in the millions, because they won’t go along with his power grab and they won’t look the other way while he does every bad thing imaginable—and then some?
No, they’ll have to lie. And there’s the rub. The networks will have to hire liars. And they know it. Now they’re twisting themselves into pretzels trying to figure out how to make the liars seem less like liars, even while the liars are lying.
Will they allow their more truthy stars to challenge the Trumpers on air? From the looks of things, it’s long past ‘allowing’. Their truthy stars, at least at NBC/MSNBC, have banged their fists on the table and have set the terms. Out loud. In public. No liars allowed. (See Rachel Maddow’s rebuttal below.)
So now what? Well okay Network execs, hear me out: Forget fairness. Just this once. There can be no fairness as long as Donald Trump is still here throwing his weight around, demanding loyalty from everyone who’s willing to pretend there’s nothing wrong with him.
It’s not a matter of fairness anymore, it’s a case of survival.
It’s the fate of the entire country pitted against a ruthless monster who makes no bones about how he’s going to destroy everyone who goes against him—and you can play nice, network execs, but this guy has a long memory. He never forgets and he never forgives. And he’s after you, too.
Give it up. Stop trying to make any of this seem normal. This is not normal. You’re trying to make friends with the enemy. Donald Trump is the enemy. You want to help? Then start treating Donald Trump like he’s the enemy.
Because he is.
I’ll leave you with Rachel Maddow’s brilliant explanation on why Ronna McDaniel had to go. Did I mention it’s brilliant?

I believe that at the moment, NBC has turned traitorous. I will not engage with NBC content until their executive team is replaced.
I agree wholeheartedly. I watch MSNBC often and in addition to Rachel, several other commentators expressed their extreme displeasure with the choice. It made a difference, NBC reversed their decision, Ronna McDaniel has been "axed," but it sure says something about the station that they hired her in the first place.
