The fight for women's rights is always two steps forward, three steps back. It's so damn frustrating! I sincerely thought we were getting better and, I suppose, we are in some ways. But November 2016 convinced me that we aren't even close to where I thought we were and we may never be in my lifetime. It's so infuriating and depressing. But we must keep up the fight. What's the alternative?
It's demoralizing after all these years, but you're right, Misty. We can't quit now. The generations of women coming up deserve better and they'll need role models. They can't see us back down now, not after we gave it our all and promised we'd get it done.
We didn't get it done, but we didn't cave, either. We're still here and we're still fighting. I'm proud of who we are.
2011 you say? I thought for certain, that you wrote this yesterday! 🙄🙄🙄
It horrifies me that 10 years have passed and it still needs to be said. But all the more reason to keep saying it! Thanks for reading.
Kathy Barsanti is correct — change a few items that show the period (like Pelosi's title) and the article is completely accurate for 2021.
Well, maybe a little more optimistic than we deserve in 2021. ☹️
You're right. I'm glad I didn't know what was coming 10 years up the road. I might have stopped laughing altogether.
