It's so tragic that the people hurt the worst in this story were women: Monica and Hillary. It never should've been a big story. The country could've had a moment of realization about power differentials and how those with power should wield it appropriately and that should've been the end of it. But no, the Republicans got a twofer: slut-shame women and embarrass Bill. None of it was OK, especially since they are and were such hypocrites. It was never about what it should've been.
It is interesting that Monica wanted to be a part of this project. Perhaps they said, "We're doing it with or without you," and she wanted some control. Or maybe she saw some good money offered and thought, "Why not?" Given that her ability to make a living was severely damaged through no fault of her own, I can't blame her. Doesn't mean I have to watch it though.
I thought I had answered you already! Where did it go? Oh, well. Just wanted to say "Yes!" to everything you've said here. You may be right that Monica felt forced into cooperating. It did seem odd since her goal now is to address public shaming, and this can only open up a huge can of worms.
