Thank you.

Any chance for a link to BlueSky? All of the good guys have left the bad place for bluer skies.

Yes, I’m on Bluesky, though I’m nearly invisible there. I haven’t made much of an impression!

Preaching to the choir is profoundly helpful to keep me in the choir.

Thank you. I needed that........

I appreciate being in the choir.

I do, too. When I'm not preaching to my own, I'm over at someone else's, listening.

Trying to keep this in my heart and mind: "Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble." - John Lewis.

I don't think our nation is in any great trouble. The new/old administration isn't brave enough to suspend the rule of law, although they'll make some half-hearted attempts. The economy is only loosely linked to the executive branch, and most of the laws we live with are state laws.

I think the states will have some leverage, but not enough. Not when all three branches of our federal government are under the sway of a loony dictator who will do anything to show the country who's boss.

I think you are quite amazing and I feel bad I even mentioned echo chamber. The ascension of Trump (cripes, what an image!) affects so many in our world!

But I was REALLY disturbed when I saw this on Nate Hoffhelder today: https://www.anildash.com/2024/11/19/dont-call-it-a-substack/

I saw that a couple days ago. I thought it was rather silly, truthfully, and not especially valid.

I’m proud to be here at Substack and I’ll announce it that way every chance I get. Everyone has a different experience here. I’m thankful every day that I joined up.

I am too. It has given me on an enormous window onto opinions and such a doorway through which to pass to meet kindred spirits. And what writing!

THIS is what you don't see elsewhere.

Ramona, I'm with you. The choir is my favorite audience. They will listen. In these dismal times they need our encouragement.

Maybe we can build a bigger & louder choir.

I often think of the old saying, "Give him enough rope to hang himself."

We have a powerful ally--the incompetence of Trump & the people around him.

Sun Tzu said, "If your enemy is arrogant or vain, you have the advantage. If he is arrogant, he will make wrong decisions. If he is vain, he is easily manipulated."

Trump thinks he is the teflon Don, but pretty soon he will be the velcro Don. Things will start sticking to him.

His policies of tariffs & mass deportation are unrealistic. He is surrounding himself with ignoramuses & attempting to eliminate people in the government & military who know what they're doing. WHAT COULD GO WRONG?

But along the way to the Trump horrible disaster, many people will be hurt badly.

The Wobblies said, "Don't mourn--ORGANIZE!!!"

People like us who have a platform & can communicate will move people to fight for their own interests & throw off this yoke of oppression,
