It really is. I know you've had your own losses. I'm sorry, too.

Oh, Mona -- your dear, aching hearts. May small comforts slip in, between all the pain. 💔

Such a heartfelt tribute. Life’s losses can be unimaginable. I love how you write exactly about how you feel. Yes, life can be unpredictable and very unfair. I’m sure your nephew was an amazing person. You certainly communicate that just by writing about how you feel.

No advice, no platitudes, just a heartfelt wish that you will know how many people are so sorry you are in pain.

As you say, we all want to offer condolences and wishes. There really is nothing one can say to ease that pain. I suppose just being the matriarch, continuing to love and support Jason’s family is all you can do. Love is the hardest emotion: so easy to create, so damning to lose. If talking to us helps you get through, please don’t stop. I am also the matriarch of our family, and it’s a huge responsibility. You can cry on my shoulder any time. This is when we need each other most. Much love, Annie ❤️

The palpable pain of grief in the midst of loss, the sadness, the tears, the joys in having known and loved Jason while was here with you. So you will all help each other walk through this valley of the shadow of death. Full of life one moment and then the light went out. It is darkest just before dawn. Sending love and light for all of you during these dark days as you wait and make it through one more. Take care, my friend.

Ellen, it helps so much. I always hesitate to publish these personal pieces but when I do, I'm overwhelmed by the love and support coming from friends I'll probably never meet face to face but know so well now and wouldn't want to do without. ❤️
