I'd much rather be wrong and embarrassed than right and have to deal with a dead mouse. So yay for being wrong! I'm glad you asked for help and faced your fears. Now your dread is at least partially lifted.
Me too! Now it's the live mice that worry me. I'm not going to use the poison, though. There is the real chance the dying poisoned mice could be eaten by a fox or some other critter I have no truck with, and I don't want that. But right now everything is clean, with new shelf paper everywhere. I have to figure out how to keep it that way!
This is a great ending to a precious story Mona. You're not alone in this endeavor or anything else.
I'm laughing with you!
Peace, love, and mice.
Lisa
Thank you for laughing with me, Lisa. I can only imagine you have bigger tales to tell!
Similar tales at least!
Actually this makes a great cautionary tale, on multiple levels! 💚
I don't dare ask you what they are!
I empathize, Mona. I HATE mice!!!! If there are signs of one in the basement, I make my husband put all kinds of stuff down there!!! Yuk
Good for you, Mona, and your nephew. Well done. and Thanks for giving us "the rest of the story."
You're welcome. But I more or less had to, didn't I? 🙄
Rickety old people can be heroes, too!
Glad that you had a happy ending…for now, anyway! 😉🤔🤣
Maybe the mouse had relatives? 😳😵💫
Sorry, couldn’t resist the tease….sending 😘❤️
I'm imagining there are many, many, many rodent relatives living too close for comfort. I really don't want to know!

Love the story.
Go buy new kitchen stuff.
Just the absolute basics that you need AND get an exterminator to seal the house for you. You'll sleep better at night...
I love happy endings.
I think it was an honest mistake. Mice are the worst!
