Senior pains are really bothersome. As someone said, the golden age ain’t for sissies! Hope your recovery continues well!

Hope you continue to feel better. My mother and my younger sister both have this and have lived with the condition for years.

Oy, that’s not good! Are they on steroids?

Expand full comment

Yes they have been on and off steroids… sounds like you have a great team working on getting you stable. 💙🇺🇸💙

I love that age didn’t play into it… that your doctors took you seriously. I must remind specialist that at 80 and a zebra, I won’t be passed off as an aging thing! And…In my experience…the best doctors are good looking/quite handsome, ran, longish hair, eyes that care! You did good, Ramona! 😅🥰

Wow, Ramona! I am so glad now that you moved so you have this excellent medical care right there. All the McDreamys? A doctor who contacts you and networks on your behalf and actually talks and listens? Also that you're not having adverse reactions to the steroids but actually getting - shall we say - a little buzz or high? And, as always, writing so clearly about it all.

I’ve had a few sleepless nights worrying about this, I’ll be honest. (And honestly, sleepless nights are not new for me) So I’m extremely happy about the outcome, even though some things are still up in the air. So that may be part of this ‘high’, too! ❤️

This is all good news! Being new in town makes it hard to assemble a medical team that you like and trust. I’m so happy to hear all the parts of this puzzle regarding your health came together to create a picture about what was going on with ways to treat it.

Yes, I was starting from scratch. A little scary. I met with a patient advocate while I was in the hospital and she helped me find a primary care doctor. I wanted a woman, for sure, and one who knew gerontology, but there’s a physician shortage in our area and the few female physicians there weren’t taking new patients. So

I settled for a new resident in a group that operates as a team. I think it’ll work.

I think team work is the best. Each doctor

Adds their specialty and care. So pleased it worked well to bring it all together. They complimented your intelligence and told you the situation clearly. I had a doctor like that who never questioned my input.

It was just so easy to work together. You’re off to a great start !!
