Ramona, I can't tell you how delighted I am to see you taking this stand. I refrained from commenting before because I had a different take than yours on the debate and what it meant. But then and now, I'm always Vote Blue No Matter Who and I 100% think Kamala can do this.

Especially with supporters like you.

Thank you, Michael. I think Kamala can do it, too. I'm excited and energized. There will be rough days ahead, but the goal is urgent. She can do it, but only with our help.

I'm in!

As you can probably guess, my response when Biden finally stepped aside was hallelujah - ! Now the Dems have a shot at winning... let's do it!!

I feel energized as well. To me it matters not what we all thought Biden ought to do. it's always been about beating Trump.

I think it's going to be close so every bit of commentary and contribution of time and resources matters.

You're right, David. It will be close, bizarre as that always seems. We have to keep that in mind, too. No place for complacency. It'll be a battle to the end.

Totally agree with you, I was at first furious and heartbroken when I heard Biden was withdrawing but when I heard he endorsed his VP I was heartened.. This election is too important. Harris was my first choice in the 2020 election but she dropped out before the primary. Now she gets her chance.

I too went through the same series of rollercoaster emotions yesterday. I have been 100% behind Joe Biden, even drinking my morning coffee out of my Dark Brandon mug with the glowing red laser eyes. From the pit in my stomach after hearing him drop out, to the pure joy I felt when he endorsed Vice President Harris. What an unbelievable and miraculous day it was! It was a lot, and I took that Sunday to process all of it, but I’m all-in: HARRIS FOR PRESIDENT💥🇺🇸💙

My cup overflows with relief for President Biden. I don't think it was ageism- I think it's an age related onset of a disease process. I think he knew it more than anyone. I give him absolute respect for consistently maintaining his values and priorities. He showed this to us before when he didn't run in 2016 due to his son. It was the right thing for him to do for the right reason. This monumental decision reflects the same values to me. He is wise and ethical. His decisions are for the highest good of all- not himself. This is who he has always been. I beg for kindness in this transition. I don't want to see him humiliated. We should be rolling out a global red carpet to honor his contributions and say thank you. He deserves to leave in a blaze of glory. He also knows Kamala can do what needs to be done. What a guy, what a president, what a beloved human being.

I think he'll be regarded as one of our better presidents, a senior statesman, a guiding light much like Jimmy Carter in his later years. That makes me feel better about his leaving. His legacy is his love for his country and the choices he's made.

I genuinely wish you well and hope you can keep the orange dictator at bay. Just noting that if you are listening, then listen outside of Substack. Listen to young people on TikTok or elsewhere. Expand your listening. Because it was not the press or a minority viewpoint that Biden was fit for the role. The difference is the senior dems and media saw it could no longer be hidden, they didn’t drive him away.

And while he did some good things I believe he should be judged on his record also. It was one of genocide.

Um sure. The billions in additional weapons and funding from the US that Biden pushed through was definitely not him. Neither was the US ongoing veto at the UN. Neither was demonising students protesting and coordinating nationwide repression.

Honestly it’s weird to say but I think I prefer to crazed zeolots of Zionism than this kind of nothing burger apologia. How is this ok with you? Do you genuinely manage to avoid seeing the footage?

Thank you. I always watch Heather Cox Richardson, and her chat yesterday calmed me down considerably. Even when some of the topics she addresses are dark and dire, she always ends on a note of encouragement and optimism!

I heard Biden's announcement on the radio as I pulled into my garage yesterday. I sat in the car and cried for about ten minutes. I cried from shock, fear of the uncertainty ahead, and because I didn't like the way this dignified public servant was "encouraged" to step down. But after those ten minutes of crying, I wiped my face and am now 100% in for Kamala Harris. I believe she can win and she can be an effective President. Let's do this!

I too just started crying. Fear. Remorse for how badly I felt Biden was. Then after sitting with this feeling. Got up with resolve to move forward, making sure Trump and those with him do not destroy our democracy. I feel hope and excitement for the future. 100% Harris! We have this.

I just realized a sentence was not completed in my above comment. …..Biden was treated by the press, people of his staff (supposedly), and the public. As a good man he deserved so much more. Just had to clarify.
